The Department of Land Economy invites applications for two part-time (0.5fte) Unestablished Teaching Associate positions commencing no later than September 2024 for a fixed period of 9 months in the first instance. The posts will support the Department's taught MSt in Climate, Environmental and Urban Policy, which begins in September 2024.

The post holders will plan and deliver seminars and small group classes, set and mark work, provide feedback to students and support subject specific activities such as seminars, professional and industry liaison and development of networking activities.

The successful candidates will have a thorough grounding in an academic area relevant to the MSt programme, whether in the social or natural sciences, as well as expertise in quantitative and/or qualitative methods and methodologies.

The role holders will undertake personal professional development by attending appropriate courses for teaching and leading seminars.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to explain concepts and complex information to MSt students who come from a range of academic disciplines.

The Teaching Assistants will typically be expected to give up to 6-8 hours per week in terms of seminars as well as conduct assessments and other support activities, as required. PhD students are most welcome to apply for these posts, if they have the support of their supervisor to do so.

Successful applicants who are PhD students will be given the title of Postgraduate Teaching Assistant in place of "Teaching Associate".
