An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Technician to work within the James Watt School of Engineering on a permanent basis.
As a specialist in manual and CNC machining (turning/milling), the successful candidate will provide a professional technical support to research and teaching activities in the College of Science and Engineering, operating within the Technical Services Mechanical Workshop team.
The postholders expert range of machining skills and advanced experience in using mechanical workshop equipment will be applied to world class research projects as well as engaging postgraduate and undergraduate teaching activities. You will also participate in demonstrating practical skills in research labs and in undergraduate teaching lab spaces. In addition, you will undertake a range of technical support activities in line with the College strategy and your expertise.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and offered on an open ended basis. Relocation assistance will be provided where appropriate.
