The Opportunity:
We are seeking a postgraduate research associate to join the GEMINI+ Edinburgh project (Greenhouse gas Emissions Monitoring network to Inform Net-zero Initiatives) at the University of Edinburgh.
Understanding the pollution levels on a street scale is vital to inform targeted polices aimed to reduce emissions. The GEMINI+ Edinburgh project aims to quantify aerosol and greenhouse gas emissions from Edinburgh by combining data from multiple sources including an extensive network of low-cost PM sensor.
In this role, you will help process the incoming data from particulate matter (PM) sensors and write a report on the network. The report will include the suitability of the sensors to achieve the project goals as well as any interest data findings. You will be part of a small team working on the project and you will be expected to take initiatives as well support both the science and technical team.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
