You will have excellent communication skills, the capability to facilitate and lead student groups, and other relevant teaching skills.

The School of Mathematics has a well-developed and exciting portfolio of programmes operating across the mathematical sciences and at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. The portfolio aims to educate students in mathematics and essential skills in critical thinking and data analysis, which are critical to employability for our graduates.

Candidates will have a sufficient understanding of the topics under discussion in the courses and programmes that they are interested in working on, along with the relevant technical knowledge and skills for those courses and programmes.

  • Working directly tutoring students in small group settings and one-to-one, helping them with course materials and questions.
  • Guiding and moderating online / in-class discussions on learning technology platforms by monitoring student questions, etc.
  • Supporting the tutoring of programming and computing in classes where students use either Python, R or another of the computing languages in use in the School.
