About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and agile team supporting the Faculties in the Humanities Division. Each postholder will work closely with a Head of Administration and Finance (HAF) for the Faculties in taking responsibility for the financial operations. You will be part of the Faculty administrative team supporting the academic mission of the University – teaching and research. Responsibilities will include: carrying out month-end, quarter-end and year-end procedures, monitoring financial position, day-to-day management of core finance functions, preparing budgets and forecasts, contribute to medium/long term strategic plan, provide financial support for research grants including guidance on funder terms and conditions, advise on utilisation of funds (including returns on trust fund investments), supervise work of finance assistant, provide financial advice as and when required, and carrying out all duties in compliance with University’s financial regulations.
About you
We are looking for a friendly, professional and highly motivated team player who excels at providing financial information for a non-finance audience. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, either hold or be working towards AAT qualification or equivalent, with significant previous experience in financial administration, preparing finance reports and developing financial processes. You will have accomplished IT skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will have strong organisational skills with demonstrable experience of prioritising a varied workload and meeting deadlines using your own initiative and with minimal supervision, with excellent attention to detail in your work. You will have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, both academic and administrative, at all levels, remaining calm and patient under pressure.
