We are looking for exceptionally talented and motivated computational scientist to take up a fully funded position as postdoctoral research associate (PDRA) in deep learning for drug discovery, as part of the EPSRC Early Career Fellowship ‘GREET: Generative Recombinant Enzyme Engineering for Therapeutics’, led by Dr Giovanni Stracquadanio.
We are an interdisciplinary group based at the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Edinburgh, interested in addressing challenges in healthcare and biotechnology, and aiming at continuously improving our strong publications and funding track record (www.stracquadaniolab.org).
The Opportunity:
The candidate is expected to design, develop, and test innovative deep learning models to design new therapeutic enzymes to treat Fabry disease. The successful candidate will focus on variational, geometric and diffusion models and will work closely with experimental scientists, within the lab and with collaborators, to test and characterise new computationally designed enzymes. The project is a unique opportunity to build a highly competitive profile at the intersection of deep learning, drug design and engineering biology.
