We are offering a unique opportunity for a driven individual to become a part of the esteemed Clinical School HR Team at the University of Cambridge. As a Business Administrator Apprentice specialising in HR Resourcing, you will play a crucial role in supporting our team to deliver top-tier HR and recruitment services to our internal stakeholders and external partners.

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will gain first-hand experience in the workings of an HR team and develop valuable administrative skills. Reporting to the Resourcing Manager and working alongside the Resourcing Advisor, you will: 

  • Assist in a variety of HR and recruitment-related administrative tasks.
  • Participate in organising wellbeing events for the school.
  • Support the broader resourcing team in their daily functions and projects.

This apprenticeship provides a comprehensive learning environment where you will be involved in diverse aspects of HR resourcing. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our services across 22 departments within the Clinical School.

About the School of Clinical Medicine

Our mission is to lead in education, discovery, and healthcare. The School HR team is located at the Clinical School Office on the Biomedical Campus and is dedicated to providing exceptional HR and recruitment services to our diverse departments.

Qualifications and Skills

We are seeking candidates who are:

  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in basic computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Committed to learning and building strong professional relationships.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of a grade C or level 4 in GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.

Training and Support

As part of your apprenticeship, you will work towards achieving the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard. You will receive ongoing support through:

  • Weekly meetings with your line manager.
  • Regular assessments and reviews by your college assessor.
  • This structured support system is designed to help you successfully complete your qualification and develop essential administration and communication skills.

Fixed-term: 18 months.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check, a health assessment and a standard Disclosure and Barring Service check.
