About the role
We are looking for a research assistant to work in the Bone Oncology Research Group, led by Prof. Claire Edwards. You will be based in the Botnar Research Centre, as your normal places of work. A major focus of the group is the role of the host microenvironment in tumour growth and the associated bone disease. You will work as part of an enthusiastic team on a project investigating how aging and adiposity impact myeloma, identifying key cellular and molecular mechanisms controlling progression of multiple myeloma. The post is funded by Blood Cancer UK.
About you
It is essential that you hold a degree in a medical/biological subject or equivalent, and have previous research experience, ideally in a similar research field. Experience with cell and molecular biology techniques, cancer cell and bone cell culture is essential. Experience with models of the tumour-bone microenvironment is highly desirable. Good organisational skills, inter-personal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team are essential.
