We are looking to appoint a postdoctoral researcher to join the psychiatric genomics group, led by Professor Naomi Wray, Michael Davys Professor of Neuroscience The post is based in the Big Data Institute, University of Oxford.
The post is for a fixed term (funded for 4 years)
You will carry out research in line the goals of the psychiatric genomics group and will contribute to a range of projects such as integration of results from genome-wide association studies with single cell sequencing data and integration of omics data sets to investigate circadian dysfunction in psychiatric disorders. You will conduct statistical analyses of genetically informative data sets measured for phenotypes of direct or indirect relevance to psychiatry.
You will have or be close to the completion of a PhD in statistical/computational genomics, machine learning, computer science, bioinformatics, epidemiology, or related field with relevant experience. You will have excellent communication skills, including the ability to independently write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research network at meetings. Specialist knowledge in the discipline and the ability to manage your own academic research is essential. Knowledge of or an interest in the genomics of psychiatric disorders would be desirable as would experience with data management and data governance best practices and tools.
