The Astrophoria Foundation Year seeks to appoint an Engineering Science Subject Lead for the Astrophoria Foundation Year Chemistry, Engineering and Materials Science (CEMS) course.
This role is equivalent to 0.2FTE and will have joint oversight for the Foundation Year CEMS course and specific responsibility for the relevant part of the course. The post holder will have a range of duties including being part of the CEMS academic team, organise specific areas of the syllabus, produce course materials, act as an assessor for CEMS course assessments and University examinations and provide supervisory support and line management for course teaching staff. Note that within the CEMS course academic team, the Engineering Subject Lead will take responsibility for the Physics syllabus and teaching, the Chemistry Subject Lead will take responsibility for the Chemistry syllabus and teaching and the Materials Science Subject Lead will take responsibility for the Maths syllabus and teaching.
The Astrophoria Foundation Year is a one-year fully-funded foundation programme for UK state school students with significant academic potential, who have experienced severe personal disadvantage and/or disrupted education which has resulted in them being unable to apply directly for an Oxford undergraduate degree programme.
