The Marie Curie Research Centre is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual with proven research experience to join the team as a Research Associate. Based at Heath Park, Cardiff, the post-holder will work as part of a dynamic core team of researchers conducting research focused on improving the care and experiences of people with life-limiting illnesses and their carers.
The role will involve working on research projects in all areas of palliative and supportive care. This includes cancer and non-cancer conditions, and the care of patients and families from diagnosis of a life-limiting condition through treatment, until death, and bereavement.
The post is funded by a Marie Curie grant and is an opportunity for an enthusiastic researcher with experience in conducting qualitative and/or quantitative research to deliver high quality research that is directly relevant to patient and carer needs.
The role will include development of research proposals and funding bids, study planning, set up and organisation, design and dissemination of questionnaires, conducting interviews, organising and leading focus groups, development and management of research/stakeholder networks, data collection and analysis, publishing in national academic journals and conferences, and the supervision of postgraduate research students.
