Digital Research Project Manager (Fixed Term)

We wish to appoint a Digital Research Project Manager to work on a project with the TIMELY Team on a fixed term contract for 30 months, in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Cambridge. The TIMELY Team is working to build clinically useful digital tools to predict mental health problems in children and young people and support prevention pathways. The role of the Programme Manager will be to assume overall responsibility of managing this large collaborative project, liaising with the lead investigatory, the Steering Committee, the Research Operations Office, the co-investigators and institutional leads at participating institutions, and the funder (Mental Health Mission and UKRI). This is a multi-million pound investment in mental health research infrastructure, establishing a robust and sustainable platform for research on children's mental health. To achieve this, we will harness interdisciplinary collaboration between world-leading data, clinical, social, and education experts, with patients and public involvement in platform and digital tool development.

Our programme will facilitate the development of future collaborations between clinicians, academics, and industry with PPI to improve the UK landscape for mental health research. The appointee will work with members of the team at the University of Cambridge (Dr Anna Moore). This project is an exciting opportunity to work with multiple agencies, collaborate with industry, and make a meaningful impact on children's mental health.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level/level 6 vocational qualifications or with relevant practical experience in a relevant area (either in academia or industry). Experience in clinical informatics and/or digital innovation, in particular involving the use of electronic records would be an advantage . They will excel at building interdisciplinary relationships and working across different partner's research teams to support them as they create local infrastructure in line with the work in Cambridge. They will be familiar with research workflow, administration (ethics applications ideally including s251/CAG applications, R&D regulations, funding applications, and health and safety). They will have previous experience in research management and management of grants and budgets.  And experience in procurement in office academic and scientific areas/labs.  They will also be highly organised, able to manage their workload and manage the research sites, grant work packages, and co-ordinate the work of the investigators.  They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  

The post holder will;

Establish and maintain project communications across the research sites and with key stakeholders and specialist clinical audiences, Create and update documents (e.g. core project documents, papers, publications, research reports for funders, draft meeting agendas, minutes etc.) Represent the program at meetings, including communicating and presenting the work to engage and support stakeholders Work with accounts colleagues to manage finances and produce finance reports.

Develop and refine management systems and processes to ensure quality and audit trails are maintained.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 30 months in the first instance.
