Understanding Society tracks changes in people’s lives over time – following everyone from an initial sample covering 40,000 households across the UK. It plays a pivotal role in generating data that enables researchers and policymakers to understand the changing lives of people.
Duties of the Role
The Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER) wishes to appoint a Survey Data Officer to work closely with other members of the Understanding Society team, in particular those responsible for data processing, data release, data linkage and questionnaire design, as well as liaising with members of the wider ISER community.
You will also work with Understanding Society’s partner organisations, namely those involved with the delivery of data to ISER.

Qualifications and Skills Required
The successful candidate should hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant field or have equivalent qualifications/experience. You should have demonstrable experience of data analysis, statistical and survey related software packages and a willingness to work within other computing environments or operating systems.
Whilst this is a full-time post, we would also welcome part-time applications at a minimum of 0.6 FTE (21.6 hours per week). Please state clearly on your application the contract type for which you are applying.
