Department
The School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering (CSEE) is a large and dynamic department in the Faculty of Science and Health. We are internationally known for our research in a range of areas and offer an excellent education to our students. We have grown rapidly over the last few years and now wish to appoint to two additional posts to further strengthen our education expertise.
Duties of the Role
You will deliver excellent teaching and student experience and contribute to the administration and management of the School and its local, regional and international profile.
You will teach on our courses at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. This may include delivering existing modules, developing new modules and generally enhancing our research-led teaching. We aim for excellence in education as well as research and are looking for individuals who can contribute to this ambition.
Skills and qualifications required
You will possess a relevant doctoral level degree in a relevant discipline or be close to completion or equivalent professional experience or practice. Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or the ability to gain professional recognition at this or a higher level if appropriate is also essentiale for the post.
The successful candidate will have experience of working independently in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, or demonstrable potential to engage in teaching and learning support in engaging and innovative way. You will be able to contribute to designing and planning learning activities, developing effective learning environments (face to face and/or virtual) and approaches to student support and guidance.
You will have the ability and willingness to complement and enhance the department/school’s education strengths and areas of planned development. A clear understanding of how students learn both generally and within their subject/disciplinary area(s) and the ability to apply this understanding to their own practice.
