The UK Partnerships and Apprenticeships Unit (UKPAU) is located within the Directorate of the Senior Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research, Enterprise, and Business Development and is currently comprised of 32 members of staff. The Unit provides leadership, support and advice for UK partnerships and apprenticeships provision and has oversight of the administration of our academic partnerships. Furthermore, it owns the process of UK partnerships and apprenticeships onboarding, development and delivery and supports the development and delivery of the University’s Partnerships Strategy.
We currently have students studying our franchised or validated courses with 15 UK partner institutions, 2 of which are consortia made up of multiple Further Education (FE) colleges, and 5 of which are commercial colleges. There are nearly 800 apprenticeship learners studying at CCCU on 8 different apprenticeship courses in Health and Science and Business and Administration routes, with over 90 local employers where the University is the main training provider.
We are now looking to recruit a Quality and Regulatory Compliance (QRC) Manager. Reporting to the Director of UKPAU, the primary role of the of the postholder would be to provide the expertise to ensure that UKPAU is well placed to support University activity around the quality and compliance of its UK academic partner and apprenticeship provision.
The postholder will be the key link between UKPAU, Quality and Standards Office (QSO) and Governance and Legal Services (GLS) with regards to quality, regulatory compliance matters, and will be the expert within the unit to advise on all matters relating to regulatory bodies’ requirements, notably the Office for Students (OfS) and the Department for Education (DfE) in the case of academic partners and Ofsted and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) in the context of apprenticeship provision.
What We Need
We are looking for someone with great communication skills to facilitate and support on all cross departmental quality, regulatory and compliance matters.
Attention to detail is key. We would like someone to work with the Head of UK Partnerships and our Head of Apprenticeships to head up our auditing and self-review of our academic partners and apprenticeship provision on an annual basis.
Due to the specialised nature of the role we need someone who has expert knowledge of both academic partnerships and apprenticeships. Ideally, someone who is not only up to date regularly with regulations for the Department for Education (DfE), the Office for Students (OfS), Ofsted and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) but is able to effectively communicate and disseminate information across the team to ensure both academic partnerships and apprenticeship provisions remain compliant.
We would also like someone who is ready to lead on compliance with Sharepoint from a GDPR standpoint. Additionally, keep CCCU, Partner Webpages and course essentials in compliance with the CMA through Triangulation of published Materials.
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible. Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year, but must purposefully align to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus, but in most cases the work location will be determined by the service required or the tasks/activities being undertaken
