Applications are invited for two Research Assistant posts on an exciting National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) funded project which aims to transform the lives of children with anxiety disorders and their families by developing and evaluating a route for seamless identification and online intervention via primary schools.
The posts are based in the Department of Experimental Psychology in the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter in Oxford.
The posts are for a fixed term (funded for 6 months from 1st September 2024).
You will support the delivery of a large randomised controlled trial, including administering questionnaires, with primary school aged children (Key Stage 2), their parents/carers and teachers. You will be responsible for day-to-day administrative duties and also for running school visits, and delivering a class session to collect questionnaire data. Participants will be seen in school settings across a large geographical area over a six-week period from the end of October to mid-December so there will be extensive travel during this time.
You will have a degree (2:1 or above) in psychology or related field, together with some relevant experience. You will have knowledge or experience of child anxiety interventions and of psychological research, along with full understanding of confidentiality issues and a commitment to safeguarding. Experience of working with children with anxiety problems/working in primary school settings would be desirable as would experience of working on a major research project involving collecting and managing a large dataset.
You will be required to upload a supporting statement and a CV as part of your application.
The closing date for the post is midday on 1st July 2024.
