An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Student Information Adviser to join the Student Information Zone.

The Student Information Zone (SIZ) provides students with a one stop shop for information, advice and guidance on all aspects of being a student at UEA in person, online and by phone.

Our Student Information Advisers provide information, advice and guidance in a proactive and agile approach resolving problems where possible and offering signposting to specialist departments and agencies where appropriate and necessary.

Key duties of the role include: 

  • Providing student-centered advice, guidance and support to prospective and current students, covering a wide range of often complex issues.
  • Taking a proactive approach to responding to enquiries, exercising judgement in determining whether enquiries or problems can be resolved without reference to colleagues or whether onward referral is appropriate.
  • Providing first-line advice on key learning and teaching processes including coursework, examinations, marking, extensions, appeals, courses, modules, placement, results, and reassessment. 
  • Providing first-line advice on the range of services available in Student Services and explaining to students how to access these services.
  • To support in the maintenance of the relevant social media and internal / external website pages for the Student Information Zone. 
  • To be a clear, effective, and patient communicator to students both verbally (in person and by telephone) and in writing (Live Chat and email).  

This full-time post is available from 19 August 2024 on an indefinite basis. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
