The role

Join our dynamic Global Engagement Division as the Deputy Director International and Head of International Partnerships & Relations (IPR) within the International Office. In this exciting role, you will be at the forefront of advancing our international initiatives and advancing global relationships.

As a visionary leader, you will be responsible for expanding our sector-leading Think Big Scholarship Programme and establishing new sponsor relationships. Additionally, you will support the progression and pathway students into the university.

Your expertise will be pivotal as you provide leadership across the University, championing international partnerships and relations. You'll collaborate closely with esteemed colleagues in the International Office, both at the senior level and within our faculty-based teams, to achieve the ambitious objectives of IPR.

What will you be doing?

  • Develop and implement an IPR strategy in alignment with the University's Internationalisation and Global Engagement sub-strategy.
  • Provide strategic leadership across the University, championing international partnerships and relations to support our global objectives.
  • Create annual operational plans and budgets, delegating responsibilities to the IPR management team when appropriate to meet international partnerships targets.
  • Facilitate the progression and pathway for international students into the university, ensuring a smooth transition and successful integration
  • Establish and nurture new sponsor relationships to support the scholarship programme and other international initiatives.
  • Represent the University in international contexts, identify international partnership opportunities, and lead negotiations with partners.

You should apply if

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within an international partnerships and relationship or similar environment.
  • Strong background in developing and managing international partnerships and scholarship programmes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to implement innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • A commitment to supporting and advancing the university’s global engagement objectives.
