LSBU is part of LSBU Group, which include a Further Education College and a Multi-Academy Trust.

The BI Manager reports to the Head of Strategy, Planning and Performance (SPP). Responsibilities of SPP include:

  • Oversees the annual planning and risk management process
  • Delivers the performance management framework and the provision of performance management data
  • Oversees external data returns and benchmarks against competitors and the sector overall
  • Delivers analysis of corporate datasets with the view to performance improvement
  • Delivers core management information for staff across the Group
  • Management and development of the LSBU BI system

This role is based within the BI Team in the Strategy, Planning and Performance unit. The BI Team exists as a centre of excellence to support the University in using data and information to drive improved performance management and decision making.

About You

We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience: 

  • Experienced in all three layers of a BI System: Data, Logic and Visualisation
  • Highly skilled in using a modern data viz platform (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)
  • Highly proficient in the use of Alteryx, or SQL or another programming language.
  • Extensive skills in communicating messages from complex data.
  • A good first degree (or equivalent) in a numerate discipline.
