This position is based within the University’s Directorate of Central Finance and is based on the Avery Hill campus, although travel to other campuses is sometimes required.
The Directorate of Central Finance at the University is an integral part of the professional services directorates. With the introduction of our new finance system Horizon, we aim to improve the financial statistics and planning provision across the university by providing professional and expert guidance and services in partnerships both internally and externally.
The post holder will have the following administrative responsibilities within a mixed customer service context, relating to various income streams including but limited to the Student Loan Company, devolved Nations and US Federal Aid and commercial accounts receivable.
The post holder will be expected to provide and deliver professional administration and expertise in areas covered by the Central Income Team and liaise with other departments across the university including but not limited to Central Finance, Student & Academic Service departments, Faculties, Information and Library Services and external partners and customers.
The post holder may also be required to take an administrative lead and Service delivery for any new income streams as and when they present, relating to, for example, LLE provision, with the support of the Manager.
You will be an experienced Student Finance administrator, who has extensive experience and knowledge of the Student Support Regulations. An understanding of the requirements associated with the delivery of Federal Aid and general accounts receivable processes. A methodical problem-solver with excellent communication skills. You will be thorough, accurate and have a keen eye for detail with the ability to prioritise your workload. These skills and qualities will have been gained within a similar administrative setting in a university or college of Higher Education.
It is essential that you have a sound understanding of delivering a professional service relating to accounts receivable for a range of customers.
