We are seeking to recruit an experienced individual to work as a mathematical modeller to establish a translational pathway focussing on providing the next generation of candidate medicines for clinical trials and for pandemic preparedness through development of physiologically-based pharmacokinetic models (PBPK). This project involves building drug ‘libraries’ for key antivirals based around PBPK models (initially for flu drugs), which can then be used to simulate optimal dosing in renal and liver impairment, and for other emerging viruses.
You should have a degree (2.1 or above) (for appointment at Grade 6)/PhD in Pharmacology (for appointment at Grade 7) or related discipline and expertise in mathematical modelling.
The post will be available until 30 June 2025 initially, with the vision for continuation subject to availability of funding and requirement.
Any applicants who are still awaiting their PhD to be awarded should be aware that if successful, they will be appointed at grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that they have been successful in being awarded their PhD, they will be moved onto grade 7, spine point 31 from the date of their award.
