We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant/Associate to join our team in the School of Infection & Immunity.
You will contribute/make a leading contribution to the UKRI-funded Engineering Biology Mission Award project titled ‘Synthetically engineered microalgae for improved gut function and human health’.
The project aims to explore the nutritional benefits and opportunities stemming from enhanced/optimised micro-algal production, using models of human health. The post-holder will investigate the biomolecular composition of microalgal species and their biomass through metabolomic, lipidomic and proteomic profiling using mass spectrometry.
The post-holder will work with Dr. Richard Burchmore together with colleagues in the MVLS Shared Research Facilities in collaboration with the wider team led by Professor Ian Watson.
This position is full time and funded for up to 18 months.
