The role
Bristol Digital Futures Institute (BDFI), at the University of Bristol, is recruiting a team of enthusiastic and talented technology specialists to work on a ground-breaking sector-agnostic digital twin research facility, the Reality Emulator. This role will be part of a 8-person Reality Emulator technical team and will lead on immersive technologies.
This role is known internally as Level 1 Technical Expert - Immersive Technologies.
BDFI is an interdisciplinary institute that brings together world leading experts from across the University with our network of partners to pioneer transformative approaches to digital technology innovation. Founded in 2019, with more than £100 of investment from Research England, philanthropic sources, and commitments from 26 external cross-sector partners, ranging from major tech corporates to start-ups, public bodies to community organisations. BDFI is leading and enabling the development of globally significant research and innovation programmes and these unique facilities. We are based in the first building to be opened on University’s new flagship Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus in Bristol.

What will you be doing?
On a day to day basis you be responsible for working on the following BDFI facilities:
You will be expected to use Unity/Unreal to further enhance models and enable research projects to get the most out of our visualisation platforms. Work with new projects to ensure all requirements are captured and be responsible for procuring future headsets and developing internal VR strategy.

We anticipate the post holder for this role to be on site a minimum of 3 days a week.
