Join Our Team: Post-Doctoral Researcher Position
The laboratory of Dr Ryuichi Fukuda at King’s College London British Heart Foundation (BHF) Centre of Research Excellence is looking for a postdoctoral researcher with a unique and very good personality. This role is to conduct research independently, analyses data and present results. Your work will be carried out under the supervision of Dr Fukuda and to study cardiac development and disease using multiple model systems.
The lab is interested in broader areas of cardiac biology using organoids from human pluripotent stem cells, mice and zebrafish. This project focuses on the study of mechanisms that regulate cardiac differentiation and disease. Ideal candidates should have excellent skills in human pluripotent stem cell culture or mouse genetics/surgery, such as MI and TAC, as well as techniques such as CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, live cell imaging and plasmid design/cloning.
Those willing to learn or develop new technologies are particularly welcome.
This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 30th September 2027.

* Please note that this is a PhD level role but candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting award of their PhDs will be considered. In these circumstances the appointment will be made at Grade 5, spine point 30 with the title of Research Assistant. Upon confirmation of the award of the PhD, the job title will become Research Associate and the salary will increase to Grade 6.
