About the Role
We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Law. This is an exciting opportunity where you will contribute to teaching on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, as well as benefit from a generous research allowance of 40% of your time.
The School of Law, Criminology and Policing offers a number of qualifying undergraduate Law degrees; single and Joints Honours degrees in Criminology; Single Honours degrees in Professional Policing; and Joint Honours degrees in Politics. We also offer postgraduate research degrees and a number of taught postgraduate programmes.
You will contribute to teaching on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, as well as benefit from a generous research allowance of 40% of your time.
You will have interests and expertise in any area of law, although we are looking in particular for candidates who can contribute to teaching and research on criminal law, including digital and cyber crime.
The School of Law benefits from excellent relationships with the legal and business communities in England and Wales and you will be expected to contribute to the development and enhancement of relationships with external parties to support the student experience at Edge Hill.
Our students have consistently rated their teaching and learning experience very highly. We were ranked 2nd in the NorthWest for Law in NSS 2022. We have a thriving Law Clinic, a mock court room and a state-of-the-art crime simulation facility.
Our submission to the last Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021) was rated very highly with over 73% of our outputs rated as either world leading or internationally excellent and the Impact of our work was rated at 3.5*. Thanks to this, Edge Hill was ranked in the top 30 in England and in the top three of all post-92 institutions in the Law unit of assessment.
