Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) link forward-thinking businesses/ organisations with world class knowledge bases, placing graduates (‘KTP Associates’) in high profile positions to deliver innovative projects.
This management KTP project, an innovative partnership between UHI Inverness and Scottish Prison Service, aims to establish an evidence base of social and economic impacts at HMP Highland - the first new prison to be constructed in the Highlands in over a century. The post holder will play a pivotal role in the development, implementation and evaluation of cutting-edge management strategies that enhance HMP Highland’s social and economic impact. Social Impact Research Fellow (KTP Associate)
The Social Impact Research Fellow will have project management responsibility for the development of a new innovative framework for the identification, measurement and tracking of qualitative and quantitative impacts. The post holder will have strong analytical and research skills, backed by a master’s degree in the social sciences or a related discipline, and prior training or experience with participatory action research and community engagement.
As a KTP Associate, the post holder will have a personal development budget of £4667, allowing them to participate in courses and complete professional training qualifications.
The position will start on August 19, 2024, and some travel within the UK will be required. A detailed job description and person specification for the post are attached.

Pay and Benefits
The starting salary for this position will be £40,000 per annum with an annual increase of £1000.
The post is full-time and will involve working 35 hours per week, usually Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, with flexibility as agreed with your line manager.
Full-time posts carry a total of 39 days leave per annum (inclusive of public holidays). Leave may be taken at any time of year, subject to the requirements of the post and permission of your line manager.
