Derby College Group (DCG) are recruiting for Teachers of Lexis (ESOL) to join our team based at our Roundhouse Campus in Pride Park, Derby. One of the roles is full-time, and the other two are part-time (18.5 hours per week or 29.6 hours per week); please specify on your application which you are interested in. The Opportunity
Within this role you will be pivotal to the success of the Lexis provision the College delivers to 160 students from Derby and the surrounding area. You’ll provide an innovative, and responsive delivery of English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) to students who are 16 to 18-year-olds. You’ll be working with students whose English skills range from a pre-entry level up to entry level 3.
The wider delivery will include ESOL to support Functional Skills Mathematics and Essential Digital Skills. You may also deliver tutorial sessions in line with the academy tutorial programme. Day to day you’ll plan schemes of work and lessons, set and mark assignments, keep student portfolios up to date and enter student data on our administrative system.

About you
You’ll hold a teaching qualification and will have experience of teaching ESOL to 16 to 18-year-olds. To be successful in this role, you’ll have excellent and interpersonal skills together with a commitment to working effectively as part of a team. You may also have a subject specialism qualification at level 5, but it is not essential that you do.
