Background

Adults aged 65 years and over are at high risk of urinary tract infections, which cause pain and can have serious complications if not treated promptly. We wish to develop an intervention to help people take action to prevent urinary tract infections or detect them promptly if they do occur. First, we need agreement from health professionals on what strategies should be advised.

We are seeking a research assistant to work on an eDelphi study that aims to gain consensus among health professionals on components of a self-management intervention for prevention and early detection of urinary tract infections in older adults.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities of the role will include: setting up a two-round eDelphi survey using Calibrum software; liaising with NHS Trusts and Health Professional organisations to recruit participants; collecting online data for both rounds of the eDelphi survey, summarising and communicating results from both eDelphi rounds and supporting the wider research project as required.

Person Specification

The candidate will hold a postgraduate degree in health psychology or an applied subject, such as health services research or applied health sciences.

The candidate will have experience of conducting online surveys including set-up, data collection, analysis and reporting study findings. Ideally, they will have experience of using Calibrum software to conduct eDelphi surveys, but if not, they will need to be confident in quickly learning how to use unfamiliar software. Additional tasks may include data analysis using NVivo and SPSS software.

The candidate will have excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
