The above full-time post is available immediately, on a fixed-term basis, until 31st March 2025 in the Faculty. The role can either be completed remotely (UK based) or on a hybrid working basis from the University of Exeter Penryn Campus, Cornwall.

The post
The Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Seismology to participate in the Geothermal Research activity which is part of the Entrepreneurial Futures project. This project is part funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. This SPF funded post is available immediately until 31st March 2025.
The successful applicant will be producing a summary, analysis and model(s) of natural and induced seismicity in Cornwall using microseismic data collected during monitoring of recent and historical deep geothermal projects. The research will provide knowledge and understanding of upper crustal in situ stress and fault system behaviour and so contribute towards induced seismicity mitigation strategies for future deep geothermal projects.
About you
The successful applicant will be able to develop research objectives, projects and proposals; identify sources of research funding and contribute to the process of securing funds and make presentations at conferences and other events.
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study. The successful applicant will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research programmes and methodologies. The successful applicant will also be able to work collaboratively and independently to achieve results in a compressed timeframe. Applicants will be able to display skills as set out in the job description.
