About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate to join the Department of Mechanical Engineering, working alongside Professor Chris Bowen exploring Porous Processing of Smart Porous Electro-Ceramic Transducers.
The project will examine a range of multidisciplinary energy harvesting methods. You will develop processing methods for producing porous ferroelectric materials via freeze casting to produce a range of porous structures, including templated structures and composites. Applications include SONAR, sensing, and energy harvesting, which converts mechanical vibrations into electrical energy for high-temperature applications. Research will be disseminated in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and key international conferences.
As a member of Research Staff at the University of Bath, you will be encouraged to take up a minimum of 10 days of professional development pro rata per year.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Prof. Chris Bowen on 01225 383660 or c.r.bowen@bath.ac.uk, or Dr Hamideh Khanbareh, Senior Lecturer, at hk497@bath.ac.uk. Please ensure you submit your application through our website.
