Following successful recruitment of many new lecturers in Psychology this academic year, we are pleased to be able to offer an additional post for Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Psychology.

The School of Human Sciences is based within the fantastic Dreadnought building on the World Heritage site at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich. These facilities, including bespoke new laboratories, are part of significant investment in the School and part of a long-term plan to build internationally leading research and teaching in the Faculty.  As part of this investment, we are looking to appoint a committed and engaged colleague to help grow and develop the School.

You will be joining a School and Faculty that is building a strong interdisciplinary and cross-professional approach to solving the grand challenges facing society. We are looking for colleagues who will have a commitment to maintaining and building the University’s excellence in teaching and learning, and who are doing research that has the potential for significant long-term academic and societal impact. As a Faculty we also welcome candidates whose research work will resonate with one or more new interdisciplinary Faculty Research Centres within the Institute for Lifecourse Development:

  • Centre for Chronic Disease and Ageing
  • Centre for Exercise, Activity and Rehabilitation
  • Centre for Inequalities
  • Centre for Mental Health
  • Centre for Professional Workforce Development
  • Centre for Thinking and Learning
  • Centre for Vulnerable Children and Families

The school has an active and growing research base. We had a strong performance in REF2021 particularly with regard to ‘research environment’. The University is currently rated TEF gold, reflecting our excellent teaching and learning. The school was nominated as ‘School of the Year’ in the Student Led Teaching awards, 2023.

We are looking to recruit an individual with a developing track record of scholarly outputs and professional activities who is able to demonstrate commitment to teaching excellence and innovation as well as appropriate experience of teaching in the HE sector for this level.
