We are seeking a Lecturer in Social Work to join the Department of Social and Policy Sciences (DSPS). DSPS is committed to being interdisciplinary, progressive, and impactful in both research and teaching.
Its academic staff come from a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds including economics, sociology, politics, anthropology, geography, development studies, social and public policy, social work, and criminology. The Dept is home to the Centre for Development Studies, which will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025.
About the role
You will be expected to conduct original, rigorous, research in Social Work, and help build our already strong community of doctoral and post-doctoral researchers. Core teaching will contribute to BSc Social Work and Applied Social Studies and MRes Social Work.
The position on offer is full time (36.5 hours per week) and on a permanent basis.
About you
You will already have some teaching experience. We will consider specialisms in any sub-field of social work but are particularly keen to strengthen the department’s interests in mental health The department has an inclusive interdisciplinary vision and applicants are encouraged to look at our website to see our research expertise in social work, sociology, social policy, criminology and international development.
You will have a degree in social work (or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England or be eligible and willing to register.
