We are excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated professional to join Birkbeck, University of London, as our Sanctuary Programme Manager this Summer.

Birkbeck is proud to be the first university in London to be awarded University of Sanctuary status, a testament to our commitment to supporting students and local communities from forced migrant backgrounds. We are looking for a committed and experienced candidate to help us maintain this prestigious status and manage our Compass Scholarship Programme.

As the Sanctuary Programme Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the process of renewing our status as a University of Sanctuary.
  • Implementing the proposals set out in the application to renew Sanctuary Status.
  • Managing the Compass Project, which supports forced migrant students.
  • Line managing the Access Assistant.

The ideal candidate for the Sanctuary Programme Manager role should have:

  • A good understanding of issues and barriers facing forced migrant communities.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional role within an education setting.
  • Excellent computing skills and experience with Microsoft Office 365 software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a range of internal and external partners.
  • Experience in project management, budgetary and financial management, and line management.

Remuneration:
£42,365 rising to £48,424 per annum. Grade 7 on the College's London Pay Scale includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.

Terms and Conditions
