Derby College Group (DCG) are looking for a passionate and dedicated Youth Worker – ESOL to join our Lexis Team at our Roundhouse campus. In this rewarding role, you will support ESOL learners aged 16–18, including refugees, asylum seekers and care-experienced young people, helping them to overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve positive outcomes. Working closely with curriculum and support teams, you will play a key role in promoting student engagement, wellbeing, positive behaviour and progression.

The Opportunity

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people aged 16–18, including ESOL learners, refugees, asylum seekers and care-experienced students. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, engagement, attendance and progression, while delivering targeted interventions and pastoral support. Working closely with curriculum and support teams, you will help students overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve their goals. About You

You are passionate about supporting young people to thrive and achieve their potential. With experience working in education, youth work or mentoring settings, you have a proven ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds, including ESOL students, refugees, asylum seekers and care-experienced young people. Organised, resilient and adaptable, you are confident managing challenging situations and promoting student wellbeing through a nurturing, student-centred approach. You will hold a BA (Hons) validated by the National Youth Agency (NYA), or an equivalent qualification, and be committed to delivering positive outcomes for every student.
