Course Team Leader: ILS 1 to 1 Tutor Support

Richmond College is seeking an organised, enthusiastic and student‑focused 1‑to‑1 Tutor (CTL) to join our successful and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to take the next step in their career within Further Education and specialist support.

The post holder will play a key role in co‑ordinating and delivering specialist one‑to‑one teaching and support for learners with specific learning difficulties and disabilities (SLDD). You will work closely with curriculum teams, Learning Support staff and other professionals to ensure learners are able to access, engage with and succeed on their study programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality 1‑to‑1 teaching and targeted interventions to learners with SLDD.
  • Support the planning, development and review of inclusive curricula across a range of programmes.
  • Work collaboratively across the College to ensure consistency and effectiveness of learning support.
  • Monitor learner progress and contribute to reviews, reports and support plans.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring and informal supervision where required to support staff or tutors.
  • Promote inclusive practice and support positive learner outcomes.

About You

You will be a committed and reflective practitioner with experience of supporting learners with additional needs in an FE or similar educational setting.

You will:

  • Hold a minimum Level 3 qualification or a degree in a relevant subject area (e.g. SLDD, SEND, education, or related disciplines).
  • Hold a Level 5 teaching qualification recognised within the FE sector (PGCE, DET, or equivalent), or be willing to work towards this with College support.
  • Have a proven track record of successful teaching learners with specific learning difficulties and disabilities.
  • Demonstrate experience in curriculum planning and development.
  • Have some experience of leading, mentoring or supervising others.
  • Be well organised, adaptable and committed to inclusive education.
