Fixed Term Contract - up to 6 months duration
Middlesex University London is recruiting for a number of positions as Lecturer in Visual Communication Design at our joint education institute in partnership with Minzu University of China (MUC) on the tropical island of Hainan, in the South China Sea. Start date: as early as June 2026 onwards, on a rolling basis.

MUC has long established campuses in Beijing and has created a beautiful new third Hainan campus in partnership with Middlesex University London to deliver joint degree programmes in Arts and Creative Industries.
The Lecturer in Visual Communication Design will provide inspirational creative practice & learning and teaching & research/knowledge transfer for the benefit of students, the joint education institute and the wider design industries. You will be an ambitious self-starter, a creative design educator and an ambassador for the successful reputation for BA (Hons) and MA Visual Communication Design programmes and the Joint Institute.
Your focus will be to deliver innovative teaching and learning, maximise student engagement, and work with colleagues to contribute to recruitment, progression, achievement, and a positive student experience. You will deliver and further develop a curriculum that reflects the needs of the design industry in China while also meeting the needs of students to engage with international contexts for design. The post will be based at the Hainan campus of the joint education institute.
Candidates must be able to meet the Chinese visa requirements; Middlesex University will assist with obtaining a visa. Any offer of employment for this role is also conditional upon obtaining a satisfactory basic DBS certificate or equivalent. Satisfactory basic clearance is required in order to obtain a visa and/or work permit to lawfully work in Hainan, China.
