What you'll do

As our People Services Team Leader, you’ll be at the heart of our HR shared service - making sure colleagues across the College receive the right support, at the right time, delivered with care and professionalism.

In this busy and rewarding role, you will:

  • Manage the daily operation of the People Services shared inbox, ensuring queries are responded to accurately and timely
  • Organise and prioritise team workloads so activity flows smoothly
  • Oversee the monthly payroll handover, ensuring all information is checked, accurate and submitted on time
  • Handle more complex HR and pay related queries, providing clear guidance and solutions
  • Support and develop the People Services team, helping them grow in confidence, capability and customer service excellence
  • Play a key role in continuously improving our processes so we can deliver a service our colleagues can rely on

This is a hands‑on role where strong communication, attention to detail and a solid understanding of HR administration processes are essential.

You’ll be joining a supportive, people‑centred team who care about delivering a positive experience for every colleague across the College.

Who we're looking for

You’ll be someone who enjoys keeping things running smoothly, solving problems, and helping others to do their best work. Calm, organised and resilient — you’ll be the steady hand the team can depend on during our busiest times.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A strong understanding of core HR administration processes
  • Experience leading a team or supervising others
  • Great numerical skills and confidence using Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of pension schemes and pension administration (Desirable)
  • Experience in education or public sector (Desirable)
