Veritas Pathways is a specialist higher education provider delivering academically rigorous Foundation Year programmes that prepare students for progression to leading UK and global universities, including Russell Group institutions. Our programmes support entry into Medicine, Dentistry, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Public Health, and a wide array of clinical, health and STEM-related subjects.
We are seeking a highly organised and student-centred Admissions Manager to oversee the full admissions lifecycle for our Science Foundation Year programmes. The Admissions Manager will ensure that applicants meet the academic and eligibility criteria established by the Academic Head, and will provide guidance and one-to-one support to prospective students and parents throughout the admissions process.
This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with academic and administrative colleagues to maintain high-quality recruitment, compliance, and student experience standards.
Key Responsibilities
Admissions Management
- Oversee the full admissions cycle from enquiry to enrolment for all Science Foundation Year applicants.
- Assess applications in line with the admissions criteria and academic standards set by the Academic Head.
- Verify academic qualifications, compliance documentation, and suitability for medical, health and STEM progression pathways.
- Maintain accurate and confidential admissions records in accordance with UK GDPR requirements.
- Coordinate applicant interviews, assessments, or academic checks where required.
Student Recruitment and Guidance
- Provide one-to-one advice and support to prospective students and parents, explaining programme options, university progression routes, entry requirements, and study expectations.
- Guide applicants interested in Medicine and health-related pathways, ensuring they understand academic prerequisites and progression standards.
- Support the internal transition from applicant to enrolled student and assist with induction processes.
Collaboration and Academic Alignment
- Work closely with the Academic Head to ensure all admissions decisions align with approved academic criteria.
- Liaise with academic staff to understand programme capacity, student suitability, and academic expectations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of admissions policies, processes, and communication materials.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure the admissions process complies with institutional policies and external regulations, including right-to-study, safeguarding, and data protection.
- Monitor recruitment trends, conversion rates, and student feedback to inform quality enhancement.
- Represent the Admissions Department in meetings, audits, and quality reviews as required.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
- Respond promptly and professionally to enquiries from prospective students, parents, agents, and partner organisations.
- Contribute to open days, recruitment events, and outreach activities.
- Support clear and accurate dissemination of admissions information across digital and printed platforms.
Essential
- Bachelor degree in a science-based subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biomedical Sciences, Health Sciences).
- Strong administrative, organisational, and data-handling skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, including confidence in one-to-one guidance.
- Ability to work accurately with academic criteria, regulations, and documentation.
Desirable
- Experience in admissions, student recruitment, or academic administration within FE, HE, or pathway institutions.
- Knowledge of UK university progression systems, particularly for Medicine and health-related disciplines.
- Experience working with international students and diverse cultural groups.
- Understanding of GDPR, safeguarding, and compliance processes in education.
