Middlesex University London is recruiting for a Senior Technician position in Music at our joint education institute in partnership with Minzu University of China (MUC).
The Faculty of Arts and Creative Industries has a long tradition of excellence in creative education and a dynamic alumni network of leaders in the creative industries globally. MUC has long established campuses in Beijing and has created a beautiful new third Hainan campus in partnership with Middlesex University London to deliver joint degree programmes in Arts and Creative Industries.
The Senior Technician (Music) will provide essential technical expertise, guidance, and specialised support in Music and Music Production across our facilities. This includes but is not limited to recording studios, rehearsal spaces, post-production suites, and live performance environments. You will be an ambitious self-starter and a skilled technical expert, playing a key role in the success of our BA (Hons) Music programme and the Joint Institute.
Your focus will be to ensure the efficient operation of Music and Music Production facilities, deliver technical inductions, demonstrations, and hands-on workshops, and provide specialist input that directly supports teaching, learning, and research activities. You will work collaboratively with staff and students from other creative disciplines to enable interdisciplinary learning and production, ensuring students gain the technical and creative skills necessary for their studies and future careers.
The posts will be based at the Hainan campus of the joint education institute. Candidates must be able to meet the Chinese visa requirements; Middlesex University will assist with obtaining a visa. Any offer of employment for this role is also conditional upon obtaining a satisfactory basic DBS certificate or equivalent.
Satisfactory basic clearance is required in order to obtain a visa and/or work permit to lawfully work in Hainan, China.
