Summary

The role holder will be responsible for the development and delivery of a portfolio of asynchronous online courses. They will oversee the accreditation, teaching and learning to afford an excellent student experience on online Psychology courses. They will support students and staff in the online team to promote student success and foster high quality student outcomes.

Job Details

St Mary’s is expanding its provision into fully online courses, and the role holder will act as a Subject Lead who is responsible for the development, accreditation and delivery of online courses within the Online Learning team. The portfolio currently includes a suite of Psychology and Public Health programmes that are launching in 2025.

The role will include working with a partner organisation involved in the creation and delivery of the online portfolio, as well as recruiting and managing hourly paid/permanent staff required for the programme delivery and assessment. The role holder will oversee teaching and learning and the student experience on the online courses. A core aspect of the role is to enable student success and foster high quality student outcomes.

The successful candidate will share an enthusiasm for innovative online education developments and have experience in the design and delivery of a carousel model of postgraduate accredited online Psychology degrees at HE/FE level. A sound understanding of PSRB accreditation, quality assurance and enhancement procedures in higher education is essential, alongside an excellent working knowledge of the implications of these for the online portfolio.

Subject Leads are appointed on a three-year rotational basis, and there will be an opportunity to extend at the end of the first three-year period.
