The University of Surrey is a global community of ideas and people, dedicated to life-changing education and research.
We are ambitious and have a bold vision of what we want to achieve - shaping ourselves into one of the best universities in the world, which we are achieving through the talents and endeavour of every employee.
Our culture empowers people to achieve this aim and to collectively, and individually, make a real difference.
The role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Personal Assistant to provide support to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the Senior Leadership team, within IT Services. The role is available on a fixed term (upto 1 year Maternity Cover) full-time contract.
As an experienced administrator, you will have a background providing direct support to senior level colleagues, including managing diaries and organising meetings, as well as undertaking general administrative support activities on behalf of Leadership Team colleagues. You will also assist with planning and implementing Departmental meetings and events for IT colleagues and the management team, including providing support during the events to ensure they run smoothly, and undertake following-up work and actions as required.
In your role, you will act as the first point of contact to the CIO for meeting and diary requests, as well as enquiries from senior colleagues and stakeholders from across the University. You will therefore bring an approachable, professional, and positive focus to the role and be comfortable dealing with colleagues at all levels of the organisation and from outside the University.
The IT team at Surrey are plugged in to the whole University, and our digital transformation work underpins the University’s renewed strategy. IT is growing our digital transformation capability, improving student experience, and helping increase our research impact, all while maturing how we operate and creating the type of working environment that we want to work in. It’s a vibrant and exciting time to join a great and well-respected team at the heart of the University’s strategic plans.
