LSE’s new AI and Education Fellowship programme is an exciting two-year initiative designed to explore the potential of AI in transforming teaching, learning, and assessment across the institution. The programme offers dedicated resources, expert guidance, and access to cutting-edge tools, enabling Fellows to reimagine courses and pilot innovative, student-centred approaches. The programme will contribute to a growing community of practice, helping to shape the future of education at LSE and inspire wider innovation.

The AI and Education Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of this initiative. Reporting to the Head of Digital Education Futures and Deputy Director of the Eden Centre, with a dotted line to the Head of the Digital Skills Lab, the post-holder will ensure that AI and Education Fellowship projects have the necessary support to be effectively implemented. This includes providing advice to Fellows on best practices in AI-enhanced teaching, supporting course and assessment redesign, facilitating the adoption of innovative teaching methods, and commissioning technical work when needed.

The successful candidate will also contribute to wider strategic and practical guidance on using artificial intelligence technologies to augment teaching and learning, collaborating closely with academic staff, experts across the School, and external providers. This role requires a proactive, innovative, and collaborative approach to embedding new digital tools in education and fostering a dynamic community of practice.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A professional or postgraduate qualification in an education related area, Advance HE/HEA Fellowship or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of emerging technologies in education, including AI tools.
  • A proven track record of designing and implementing technology-enhanced learning solutions, including producing documentation and/or training and development activities.
  • Experience of teaching and/or supporting student learning.
