Leeds Beckett University has a fantastic opportunity to deliver an exciting and innovative Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project to optimise strategic and digital marketing and decision-making within Haighs Bakery – a family-owned North Leeds based SME producing a wide range of sweet and savoury baked products which they supply across the North of the UK.
Haighs have operated successfully for 75 years, hold Gold member status in the Craft Bakers Association, researching and developing new products and recipes, with a pride in their quality ingredients and consistency of product.
We encourage applications from a self-starter with strong communication and project management skills, and a credible experience in strategic and digital marketing. The successful candidate will need to bring a pragmatic, agile and responsive capability.
This exciting role is supported by academic experts from Leeds Beckett University’s Leeds Business School who will help you develop and embed new strategic and digital marketing and decision-making capabilities within Haighs to support their ambition to be more competitive in their sector and innovate into new markets. There is exciting opportunity to unleash digital transformation within the business. You will be based full-time at the company premises and you will be welcomed as an integral part of the friendly Haighs team.
We need an enthusiastic, self-motivated person bringing a Bachelor’s degree (2.1 or higher) in Marketing, Business Management, Digital Marketing / Innovation (or similar)
Preference will be given to an associate who also has a higher level professional or academic qualification in a related area e.g. Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma; or you bring experience delivering marketing strategy within a commercial environment.
You will need credible project management capabilities in order to manage a multi-faceted project. You will be well supported by academic experts at Leeds Beckett and colleagues at Haighs Bakery but you need to be curious, excited about the project challenges and prepared to involve yourself in all aspects of a business.
This will be a challenging role and for the right candidate will present an excellent opportunity to make a tangible difference to the business, grow their own skill set and experience and with a very realistic chance of permanent employment at the end of the project.
To arrange an informal discussion about this post, please contact Rosi Newman at r.j.newman@leedsbeckett.ac.uk.
The project provides dedicated budgets to support training and development (£2k pa) alongside opportunities to access the university’s pension scheme, staff benefits and discounts, staff training and development programmes as well as high level support from expert Leeds Beckett academics. The university also offers candidates the opportunity to study for a higher degree (MRes, MPhil or PhD) with a fee waiver in place.
There is a travel and subsistence budget included in the project.
