Description

BUiD offers three Law programmes: Bachelor of Law, Master of Construction Law & Dispute Resolution, and PhD in Business Law. All programmes are delivered in English.

The Academic position in Law is available for the 2025–2026 academic year, with an expected joining date of September 2025.

Selection Criteria

  • PhD in Law (Civil, Commercial, or Procedural Law) from a reputable university (preferably within the top 500 QS ranking)
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is preferred
  • Ability to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses
  • Capability to develop and implement research strategies and projects
  • A record of effective teaching and research is desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish credibility within and outside the university
  • Contribution to national and international accreditation efforts
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, meet deadlines, and handle pressure
  • Demonstrated high ethical standards, discipline, and time management
  • Motivational and adaptable to diverse environments
  • Proficiency in IT, online pedagogy, and social networking tools

Academic Leadership Expectations

Candidates are expected to offer academic leadership and contribute to the effective operation and quality assurance of the Faculty. This includes:

  • Expanding the faculty’s programme offerings
  • Promoting smart learning and integration of ICT in education
  • Contributing to strategic planning for the faculty and its role within the university

Main Roles & Responsibilities

1. Governance

  • Participate in policy review and development and ensure effective implementation to maintain compliance, accountability, and quality.

2. Faculty Operations & Growth

  • Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, and financial management aligned with university priorities.
  • Design and maintain course content in coordination with the Head of Programme and Dean.

3. Curriculum & Accreditation

  • Support efforts to achieve and maintain both local and international accreditations for all programmes.

4. Research & Teaching

  • Foster a research-oriented environment and support faculty and students in applying for research grants.

5. Community Engagement

  • Develop partnerships with industry, government, and professional communities to support the university’s mission and enhance academic programmes.
