We are seeking to recruit a new Knowledge Exchange (KE) Fellow role. Someone who can secure funding and deliver consultancy/knowledge exchange projects aligned with CEP’s strategic research priorities, and support us in communicating and delivering impact from our research across public policy-facing energy and net zero stakeholder communities.

FTE: 1.0 (35 hours/week)

Term: Open-ended

Closing date: 11/05/2025

The Centre for Energy Policy (CEP) is seeking to recruit a new Knowledge Exchange (KE) Fellow role to join our growing team. We are looking for a talented individual who can secure funding and deliver consultancy/knowledge exchange projects aligned with CEP’s strategic research priorities and support us in communicating and delivering impact from our research across public policy-facing energy and net zero stakeholder communities. We are particularly interested if you have a broad understanding of the energy policy space and the ability to communicate complex academic research ideas to a non-expert audience. This includes written and verbal communication skills.

To be considered for the role, you will have a good honours degree and PhD / higher degree (or equivalent professional experience) in appropriate discipline. You will have a personal track record in carrying out knowledge exchange and/or consultancy projects and a demonstrable track record in developing successful funding.

As a Knowledge Exchange Fellow, you will engage as an independent knowledge exchange professional in individual and collaborative knowledge exchange projects, establishing a distinctive programme of knowledge exchange/consultancy and generating interest through engagement with industry and professional bodies relevant to the energy policy space. You will apply as Principal- or Co-Investigator, to appropriate external organisations for knowledge exchange and consultancy funding and manage projects secured. You will write up reports, often as lead author, for external organisations, and further write up findings for additional dissemination (e.g. professional publications or peer review journal publications) as appropriate.

You will have knowledge exchange interests which are consistent with the strategic direction of the Centre, our home Department of Government and Public Policy, faculty and University, and will have the ability to plan and organise knowledge exchange programmes and consultancy projects, and to pull together teams of academic professional staff and others as appropriate, to ensure project delivery for the client and benefits to the University.
