The post
The Faculty wishes to recruit a Graduate Research Assistant to support the work of Dr Clémence Bernard. The successful applicant will provide logistical, organisational and technical support for the team and contribute to research projects on the development of neuronal circuits in the mammalian brain.
They will assist in the establishment and day-to-day maintenance of the laboratory. They will be involved in a range of research activities including molecular and cellular biology experiments and mouse work. They will work closely with the group leader and other team members. The successful applicant will benefit from training in a vibrant and collaborative research environment, which offers the opportunity to develop skills in a wide range of state-of-the-art biomedical research methods.
About you
The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
Applicants will be educated to first degree level or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study or equivalent experience and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated with a strong interest in our research projects. Prior experience in histology, molecular biology and mouse work would be desirable. Evidence of teamwork, meticulous record-keeping and effective communication skills will also be positively assessed.
