Job Description

The University of Khorfakkan (UKF) is seeking a highly qualified faculty member in Media and Communication Sciences at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, research, and academic mentorship at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates must have a proven research record and the ability to establish and sustain a funded research program, publishing findings in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals, particularly those indexed in Scopus.

While Arabic is the primary language of instruction and communication, candidates must have graduated from an English-speaking university and be capable of teaching in both Arabic and English. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Media and Communication, with a focus on contemporary and digital media trends.
  • Engage in research activities and initiate projects leading to publications in internationally recognized, peer-reviewed scientific journals, particularly those indexed in Scopus.
  • Supervise graduation projects, master's theses, and doctoral dissertations.
  • Contribute to curriculum development by updating and enhancing academic programs to align with industry trends.
  • Participate in academic accreditation processes, ensuring compliance with the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation and international standards.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned by the department, college, or university.
  • Engage in community service initiatives, including organizing media-related events, offering consultancy, and strengthening industry partnerships.
  • Advise and mentor students, guiding them in their academic and professional development. 

Required Qualifications and Competencies:

  • PhD in Media and Communication, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field from a recognized university.
  • Ideally at least three years of successful teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels in media, communications, or related disciplines.
  • A strong research record with publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals or indexed in Scopus.
  • Experience supervising graduation projects, as well as master’s and doctoral theses.
  • Proven ability to establish collaborations with media organizations, industry partners, and community institutions.
  • Demonstrated history of contributing to university and community service initiatives.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in e-learning and online education.
  • Proficiency in integrating digital technology into curriculum design and instruction.

The selected candidate is expected to play an active role in the advancement of the college and university, contributing to its research, teaching, and community engagement efforts.
