The opportunity:
We are looking for 1 full-time Research Midwife and 1 part-time Research Midwife to join the Edinburgh Pregnancy Research Team (EPRT) to support clinical trials and research studies in pregnant women/people and their babies. Based in the Queen’s Medical Research Institute and NHS Lothian RIE, they will participate in one or more studies, working closely with colleagues in EPRT, NHS Lothian, the Edinburgh Reproductive Tissue Biobank. Knowledge of the pregnancy journey from an antenatal clinic setting through to birth and beyond, and the routinely collected clinical data and biosamples is essential. The post holder will have excellent communication skills and be able to plan and manage a busy workload according to the needs of the project(s). They will ensure the highest standard of care is delivered to research participants, in accordance with the protocols, Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (GCP) and applicable legislation.

The full-time post is 35 hours per week and the part-time post is 21 hours per week; however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns for both of these posts. In your cover letter, please indicate whether you are applying for the full-time or part-time role.
The salary for this post is £34,132 - £41,671 per annum, pro rata for the part time role. A market pay supplement equivalent to 7% of salary shall be payable in addition to substantive salary. Additionally, the normal incremental pay range for these posts will be points 1-8 of the published scales.

An Honorary NHS contract will be sought for the successful post holder. You therefore must be eligible to hold an honorary contract with NHS Lothian, and must also be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council.
