We have an exciting new opportunity for someone to join the Clinical Infection Research Group (CIRG) as a post-doctoral research associate. We are looking for someone with a strong interest in the field of immunology. The role involves regular travel to coordinate tech-transfer and immunoassay enhancement at the MRC Unit The Gambia at LSHTM.
The post holder will work on a Wellcome Trust funded project identifying and validating Strep A correlates of protection in a human challenge study to support vaccine development. In this role you will be expected to develop, validate, and perform immunological assays using samples collected from clinical cohorts, and analyse and write up the results. You will be encouraged to support and train others, including laboratory scientists from collaborating institutions.
As the successful applicant, you will work closely with research teams led by Prof Thushan de Silva. This is a fixed-term post until the end of February 2028.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
