Technician Demonstrator in Animal Science

A minimum of 22.2 hours per week based on a 0.6 FTE contract

About the Role

• Opportunity for an early-career animal scientist seeking to develop their teaching practice in a hands-on, practical learning environment
• Delivery of practical sessions across a range of animal science modules, with a focus on laboratory-based teaching related to animal health, disease, anatomy, physiology, and general biology
• Part of assessment teams and conducting assessments within those teams
• Supporting the coordination and administration of practical elements of the curriculum, including practical classes and training sessions involving canines
• A key member of the team as we continue to evolve our curriculum and pedagogical delivery

About You

• Willing to complete a teaching qualification within two years of appointment
• Postgraduate degree in a relevant subject area, PhD desirable, particularly applicants with a background in animal/canine biology or general animal science
• Confident working around a range of animal species, in particular dogs
• Relevant industry (including laboratory) experience within the subject field would be an advantage
• Supporting higher education programme delivery, you are enthusiastic
• A candidate with excellent communication skills, experience and able to work professionally
